Saturday, 22 February 2003, 1.37 PM Dawn French continues her kissing career on the Parkinson talk show tonight (Saturday), by puckering up with George Clooney. The actor serves up a smacker after learning of her assaults on Tom Jones (during Dawn's last Parky appearance) and Hugh Grant. Dawn also reveals how lunch at The Ivy with Jennifer Saunders turned into a surprise kiss from Brad Pitt (Clooney's Ocean's Eleven co-star). Somewhere between the banter, she'll discuss her play, My Brilliant Divorce, at London's Apollo Theatre. Dawn reflects on her infamous "Huge" Grant snog, which was sponsored by Comic Relief viewers: "Ahh Hugh Grant, lovely. I didn't catch anything at all, that was good. I thought there was danger of that. "But very nice mouth, very nice indeed. He's not the only one…" Then there was Johnny Depp's The Vicar of Dibley appearance for Comic Relief: "there was a quick bit of lip action going on there. He's been writing to me ever since. You know, but I can't, I can't, I'm married." There may also be a word or two about her magical part in the Harry Potter spoof, specially recorded for Red Nose Day on 14th March. Providing the music in this first show of a new series is Simply Red, who are also performing a Comic Relief fundraising concert at London's Shepherd's Bush Empire on Thursday 27th February. Tickets are available from the Comic Relief Ticket Hotine on 0870 060 2336 and online. Parkinson, Saturday 22 February 10.20 pm, BBC ONE |
